GoodWeave Certification Nepal is pleased to welcome Mr. Jon Jacoby, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GoodWeave International (GWI), to Nepal from 8–12 February 2026. 

On the day of his arrival, Jon visited Khenche Carpet, one of GoodWeave’s affiliated factories where he observed the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) training provided to female weavers and interacted directly with several participants to hear their experiences and the importance of these awareness sessions. He also met with parents of children supported through the Sponsorship Education Program (SEP), as well as beneficiaries of the recent eye screening camp, who received free spectacles through a recent eye screening camp organized by GoodWeave Certification Nepal. 

The following day, Jon held an external meeting with the Embassy of Finland in Nepal to share GoodWeave’s work, impact, and ongoing efforts to strengthen the Nepali carpet industry. He then visited Rug Art Nepal, a GoodWeave exporter factory, where he discussed opportunities to promote Nepali carpets as a high-end international product together with the factory owner and management team. Later, he visited the READ Nepal community program in Lalitpur. 

Jon also spent meaningful time with our Board and team, sharing GWI’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, which supported us in refining and strengthening our direction for greater impact. Jon’s visit provided us a valuable opportunity for us to align and refine our own strategies to further deepen our impact in the years ahead.
