GoodWeave Certification Nepal and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology signed a Memorandum of Understanding on July 31, 2024, to conduct free eye screening clinics for carpet weavers associated with GoodWeave licensed factories. 

As part of this initiative, GoodWeave Certification Nepal will conduct four eye screening clinics throughout the fiscal year 2081/82. At these clinics, workers will receive free eye screenings, medicines, and spectacles. Also the workers diagnosed with cataract and other eye problems will be provided treatment at free/subsidized costs. The first clinic is scheduled for Shrawan 19, 2081 (August 3, 2024), at Chamunda Higher Secondary School, Narayantar, Jorpati, Kathmandu. 

We extend our sincere thanks to Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology for their technical support in this initiative. Together, we aim to improve the eye health of carpet weavers, thereby enhancing carpet production and supporting ethical business practices in the industry.
