Srijana Mukhiya is a well experienced mental health professional with more than two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, and families across Nepal and the United States. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Xavier’s College, Nepal. Throughout her career, she has specialized in school based mental health, trauma informed care, and clinical assessment.
Srijana currently serves as a Mental Health Therapist at Lincoln School, Kathmandu.
Prior to returning to Nepal, she worked extensively in the U.S., including at Denver Health School Based Clinics, Fred Finch Youth Center, Richmond Area Multi Services (RAMS) in San Francisco, and Lincoln Child Center in Oakland. Earlier in her career, Srijana worked with Ama Ghar/Ama Foundation in Nepal as a mental health consultant and contributed to community based education and child protection initiatives through Hoste Hainse. She also has research experience with Washington University’s Comorbidity and Addictions Center and the Department of Psychiatry.
Srijana’s dedication to child welfare, mental health advocacy, and holistic care has been recognized through several awards, including the Principles of Care Award from Lincoln Child Center and the Mahendra Bidhya Bhusan, Nepal’s national academic honor. She brings to the Executive Board a deep commitment to strengthening mental health systems, promoting youth resilience, and supporting community centered development initiatives.
